My Night Of Television

So, tonight's premieres...

Joan of Arcadia
Loved it. As in, I have a new current favorite show.

Amber Tamblyn is fabulous and very natural, and Jason Ritter is both likable and extremely easy on the eyes. ;) The two have a sweet sibling chemistry (I said sibling -- I'm not always perverted ;)). I especially liked their little fight, like when she splashed a glass of water in his face. I'm psyched that the next episode looks to be heavy on those two characters.

Really, though, I loved the show in general. I just hoped it did okay in the ratings. I taped Miss Match but have yet to watch it.

Hope And Faith

It was actually better than I had expected. Kelly Ripa can sometimes grate on my nerves when she's on Regis And Kelly, but I thought she was quite funny. The show seemed to drag when she wasn't on screen. The soap references were cute, and of course I enjoyed seeing Ted McGinley. *g* I hope he'll have more of a part in later episodes.

Life With Bonnie

Um, what happened to the daughter? I had noticed an ad without her but just figured... well, I don't know what I figured. Did the actress leave or was she fired? I thought she was pretty good.

Other than that throwing me off, I enjoyed the episode. Bonnie Hunt is so adorable, and I love her chemistry with Mark Derwin. Like the other shows I saw tonight, I hope this one survives its Friday night time slot.

I'm watching the WKRP mini-marathon on TVLand right now, dedicated to Gordon Jump.

That reminds me... rest in peace, Robert Palmer.

I thought Hope and Faith was funny. I really loved the food fight scene :D

About Life With Bonnie, was the daughter still in the opening credits? I missed them so I don't know.

I liked the food fight, too. :) I also liked it when Hope put the ketchup on the sticky buns and the family ate them, anyway.

I didn't notice her in the opening credits. I was watching them and noticed some of the other cast members (like the guy who plays the son's friend), but I don't recall seeing her.

Yeah, that scene was good! That would have stopped me lol

I remember seeing the end of the credits and that kid was added. So suddenly her daughter disappears and they don't even say anything, that's weird. Either she'll be on next Friday or they will say something about it.

Yeah, I guess we'll find out this Friday. :)

Joan of Arcadia

Really? 'Cause I would just cringe every time the commercials came on. It looked so... stupid.

Maybe I'll give it a shot =)

The thing is, every time I saw the commercials I thought, "Oh, wow, this looks like a really cool show." (Yeah, I'm a dork who actually does think like that. ;)) I thought the ads represented the show well, too. So if you didn't like the commercials, my guess is that you wouldn't enjoy the show.

On the other hand, if you want to try it, go right ahead. Obviously I like it. :)

I really, really loved Joan of Arcadia. It was a great show. I'm so proud of Amber. She did really well. :) And Jason did pretty good too. I also loved their chemistry. And I sorta hope "God" takes form in the teen guy more often because he's pretty cute. lol But yeah, I was really impressed with Amber. I can't wait for next week. I ended up not being able to tape Wanda at Large, but it's all good. :)

Hope and Faith was okay. I wasn't really blown away by it, but it's alright. I do adore Kelly, Faith, and Ted however so I'm hoping the writing gets better.

I had Life With Bonnie on and actually taped it too but I wasn't paying too much attention to it. I like Bonnie it's just I was doing other things at the time. I should watch the tape when I have time.

I'd love to watch WKRP. Oh well, maybe some other time. :)

Oh and I'm not sure if you like primetime dramas much, but Boomtown is really good. Plus Donnie's on it. :)

Me, too! Is he supposed to be on the rest of the season?

I love Life With Bonnie, but it took me a while last season to get into it. I guess it kind of just grew on me.

Hmmm, I've never seen Boomtown. Would it be hard for me to follow at this point?

another one!

Shoot. I completely forgot when the premiere of Joan of Arcadia was going to air. I'm really not fond of Amber Tamblyn (thanks mostly to a serious dislike of her character on GH), but I noticed Kris Lemche at least temporarily playing God in the previews and wanted to see him. I'm just really spacing out on premieres this season I guess! =P

Aw, I'm sorry! :( Was he the one who mentioned the tree when Joan asked to see a miracle? I clicked on his link but it didn't have a picture. (I did noticed he had been in Joan of Arc earlier in his career, ironically.) Maybe he'll be on more episodes...?

I don't really know whether he said anything about a tree or not. At the IMDB link, if you click where it says "Photo Gallery," there are a couple of still shots from a movie he did, but there's also a really nice black-and-white shot here.

I remember seeing him in that earlier Joan of Arc movie and in eXistenZ (a very bizarre film, that), but I mostly know him from his guest roles on La Femme Nikita and Twitch City. I'll see him around again somewhere, I'm sure. =)
