I don't have all that much time, so I just want to single out a few special icon makers.

[livejournal.com profile] simplelyric, I have to tell you that I still absolutely adore my Kelly Monaco icons. They bring back so many great memories -- of Port Charles and of getting to know you. Thank you a million times over for them.

[livejournal.com profile] spiffydaze, what can I say? I'd be hard pressed to find an icon maker who could match your quality or your quantity (let alone both!). I am especially appreciative of my gorgeous Jason Ritter/Kaley Cuoco icon. You did a great job with it (since I know it didn't lend itself quite well), and just looking at it makes me giddy. I think Jason and Kaley are talented and charming, and seeing them together also combines two of my fandoms (Joan of Arcadia and 8 Simple Rules). Plus, I know that both were important people to John Ritter, whom I still miss. So... long story short, that icon has tremendous personal meaning, and I am so very thankful that you were sweet enough to make it for me.

Finally, [livejournal.com profile] lavellebelle, you rock. Seriously. Kudos to you for creating such a sweet day, and major kudos for being so talented. I'm tempted to take just about every one of your Sarah Michelle Gellar icons, and I don't even like the Buffy Summers character. *g* My favorite icon of yours is the Joan of Arcadia one I chose for this post -- it gives me a sense of peace every time I look at it. The fact that one little icon has that kind of power... well, I think that's pretty amazing. So, thank you so very much!

In general, hugs to [livejournal.com profile] simplelyric, [livejournal.com profile] naushika, [livejournal.com profile] lavellebelle, [livejournal.com profile] pessimistreader, [livejournal.com profile] georgiamae, [livejournal.com profile] _extraflamey_, [livejournal.com profile] an_autumn_end, [livejournal.com profile] luthienancalime, [livejournal.com profile] ruffledhair, [livejournal.com profile] spiffydaze, [livejournal.com profile] morgaine22, [livejournal.com profile] sff_corgi, [livejournal.com profile] tonya1980, [livejournal.com profile] somefairytale, [livejournal.com profile] back_2_basics, [livejournal.com profile] topazangel, [livejournal.com profile] buffyx, [livejournal.com profile] effulgent_icons, and [livejournal.com profile] roukzeptea23. Also to everyone at [livejournal.com profile] cordelia_icons. You guys are creative, generous, and talented. Thank you!!!

Really, though, I admire each and every single one of you who has ever made an icon before. Thanks for making the internet just a little nicer. (Hee, I'm such a dork. :))

If anyone cares, Laverne & Shirley starts this week on Lifetime. I adore the show, so I'm thrilled. =)

Jason Ritter on Wayne Brady! )

In my dream last night, I was watching a performance for charity of some musical, with celebrities cast in bit roles. Such stars included Jennifer Garner, Michael Vartan, and David Anders. The main thing that stuck out in my mind, however, was that Anders had very long hair, and boy, did that work for him. Not that he wasn't hot, say, last night on the show, but in the dream? *sigh*

Spoilers for 'The Heights,' The O.C. )

I know I'm constantly saying this, but I'm very much behind on reading everyone's journals, and I feel horrible about that. :(

School is school, blah blah blah. Joan Of Arcadia was fabulous -- I enjoyed it so much more this time around than before. I'm also becoming a big Luke/Grace fan.

I'm completely psyched for the Super Bowl -- I love my Panthers! =) (Sorry, but I'm obsessed.)

Also, I saw part of Thursday's debate for the upcoming Democratic primary in South Carolina. John Kerry reminds me so much of some actor on television, but I can't figure out who it is. It's been driving me crazy since then, though. *shrugs*

Okay, I think I've rambled enough for now. Have a great night, everyone!

First of all... I love my new icon! I have [livejournal.com profile] spiffydaze to thank for it (you rock!). If anyone's ever looking for any Joan Of Arcadia or The O.C. icons, then I advise you to check out her other icons. They're terrific.

Secondly, [livejournal.com profile] mitmmargy has made a Joan of Arcadia quiz, which I thought was a lot of fun. :)

Quiz result here! )

Ah, just like last semester... I'm off to do loads of homework, after wasting time online for far too long. I also haven't had the time to read/reply to most entries/comments, so I apologize for that.

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

Edited To Add: Okay, not loads of homework. I just like to whine. As well as procrastinate...

I'm really enjoying Paul and Rosanna (aka Todd and Dixie!) on As The World Turns. I think they have a lot of chemistry, and as good as Roger Howarth is, I'm just not interested in him when he's in scenes with anyone else. Besides, I think he has chemistry with his onscreen sister Jennifer, and that creeps me out.

Michael Easton is incredibly sexy. I'm so excited that he, Matthew Ashford, and Heather Tom are all on One Life To Live now. I have to start back watching that one, too. =)

Did anyone else hear that JTT was going to be on 8 Simple Rules? Weird. *g*

Yeah, this was a pointless post.

Here's something remotely interesting: Vote for the best new television drama series for the People's Choice Awards here. If you have no opinion, may I suggest Joan of Arcadia or The O.C.? (The third choice is Cold Case, which I've never seen.)

Snagged from [livejournal.com profile] thesirenslure, who probably doesn't know me but likes JoA: Fiona Apple Quiz )

Spent lots and lots of time this morning at [livejournal.com profile] joanofarcadia. Good fun. =)

Also, thanks to everyone who shared my joy of being done with finals. :) Good luck to everyone who still has more to do!

I gave in. I starting reading a few friends' journals and just wasted about half an hour. Well, not really wasted, because I love reading what everyone has to say. I just need to get to work so that I can quit at 8 and watch my Friday night line-up (Joan of Arcadia, Hope & Faith, Life With Bonnie). (I have to have a chance to unwind, right? :))

Anyway... I am a very, very, very lucky girl. A deadline I thought was last Wednesday was actually... well, it'll be the Monday after Thanksgiving now (thanks be to God!). Which gives me so much more time to work on it. So, any prayers or positive thoughts that were sent my way are greatly appreciated.

Basically, while some things are going even worse (in terms of schoolwork), some is going much better. I definitely have reason to be thankful. (Which is convenient, considering Thanksgiving is next week... wow, I'm such a dork. I'm going to shut up now.)

Actually, one more thing. I finally had a chance to listen to Tales Of A Librarian... )

Anyway, who knows when I'll be back on (it all depends on how focused I am), so if I'm not on for a while, I hope everyone is doing extremely well. Have a safe and relaxing weekend!
raisingirl99: (LavelleBelleJoan)
Are there any songs that always make you cry? There are plenty of songs that sometimes make me cry (commercials often make me cry!), but there's one that always does it for me:

Somewhere Over The Rainbow.

It popped up on Life With Bonnie today (hope that wasn't too spoilerish for anyone), so of course I cried. There's something so beautiful and yet so tragic about it to me... especially after seeing the commercial for 8 Simple Rules.

I know I've said this before, but a big part of me is dreading the episode. It breaks my heart just thinking about it. Then again, I have to learn to accept it, accept everything that's been going on...

On a happier note, Joan of Arcadia! )

One more thing -- I am becoming obsessed with the parents' plotlines on the OC. So, if anyone knows of any sites, communities, or whatever for them (not the teens), please drop me a line or something (thanks!). :)

Well, considering I've been up for about 21 and a half hours. I think I'm going to head to bed. I hope everyone (especially [livejournal.com profile] simplelyric, but of course everyone) has a as wonderful a weekend as possible. Good night, all.
raisingirl99: (Default)
Yup, I'm watching SoapNet right now! Our cable provider just added it to our line-up. Of course, it has to happen after Port Charles is cancelled, but anyway. I'm just happy that'll I'll be able to watch any and all classic marathons that may be airing in the futue. :)

Thoughts on last night's television line-up...

Joan of Arcadia )

Hmmm. I guess that's all I feel like saying right now, though I loved Hope & Faith and Life With Bonnie last night, too.

Okay, there's a commercial on right now for a video of Siegfried & Roy's greatest moments (or something like that). Maybe it's just me, but there's something a little creepy about airing that right now.

Anyway... I hope everyone is doing well and has a safe and enjoyable weekend. :)

Did anyone ever watch Nothing Sacred? I just came across a reference to it, and I had been thinking about the show ever since I started watching Joan of Arcadia, so I thought I'd ask.

(Years ago... seven, maybe... it was a drama on ABC about a priest. I believe it was on Thursday nights, at least at one time. It didn't last very long, but I wish it could have stayed on the air. I enjoyed it.)
raisingirl99: (Default)
Here's a link to how a handful of Port Charles cast members wanted the show to end, thanks to the always interesting [livejournal.com profile] rebeccastaabfan. I liked Erin Hershey Presley's comment the most. More here... )

Now, because you all know how much I look like Halle Barry:

Something Silly )

I watched (and loved) Joan of Arcadia, Hope & Faith, and Life With Bonnie last night. More television ramblings... )

Well, I'm off to read a little fan fic and then (eventually) get started on my homework. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

So, tonight's premieres...

Joan of Arcadia )

Life With Bonnie )

I'm watching the WKRP mini-marathon on TVLand right now, dedicated to Gordon Jump.

That reminds me... rest in peace, Robert Palmer.

Go to Google, type in "weapons of mass destruction," and then hit "I'm Feeling Lucky." Seriously. Trust me.

Btw, does it seem ironic to anyone else that an ad during GL for Joan of Arcadia (which I want to watch, btw) brags about star Amber Tamblyn's work on GH (the only soap in direct competition w/GL)?
