Oh, and did anyone watch VH1's Pop Culture Icon show? How did Britney and JLo get so high? I mean, they can make the list, that's fine and all, but Top Twenty? *shakes head*
Really, though, where should I start?
With Tom Cruise, perhaps? Now, I've been known to be a bit obsessed with the man. As in, one of my best friends (and fellow fanatic) gave me a framed picture of him one year for my birthday, and I kept it by my bed for quite some time. Still, though, Number Five? One higher than Marilyn Monroe?
Susan Lucci as Number Seventy-Four was pretty cool, though. Yay for soap icons, though Luke & Laura should be right up there with her...
Um, and as much as I'm loving his music right now, Justin Timberlake is one above Alfred Hitchcock, film (and television) genius?
You know, also, I'm sorry, but how did Reese Witherspoon make the list at all? I enjoy a number of her films. She's cute, she's likable, and she's a good actress. What I don't see is her becoming a pop culture icon anytime soon. Yeah, a lot of people would be able to recognize her, but didn't she just have a movie of hers come out? Why wouldn't they be able to recognize her? Give her some time, see if she has any real staying power.
Okay, ranting done. I feel better now.
