Things I've Watched This Weekend I Found Interesting
Even Stevens
Last night I saw an episode that was brand new to me, "Battle Of The Bands." It was awesome! My favorite part was probably Tawny's poetry, which was hilarious and not at all what I expected (The sandals of my soul go flip flop flip flop).
The show also had almost everything you could ask for from ES -- funny sight gags (Louis' head sticking through a drum, Artie's dyed hair), completely random lines (Artie, after his band didn't get the gig they wanted: "I'll have to go back to my first love, figure skating"), and even not-quite-sappy brother/sister bonding moments between Louis and Ren. The only thing missing was Louis/Tawny moments, but there was interaction and not really room for much else, so I'm not complaining.
Soap
My favorite episode came on Friday night, Episode 39 (which I looked up on TV Tome), when Jessica, Benson, and Billy visit an on-the-run Dutch and Eunice. A cop stops by, prompting Jessica and Benson to pose as a married couple, with Billy as their son(!).
Most of the lines from that particular scene had me practically on the floor, but they're so ridiculous that it doesn't quite work just writing it here. For example, when the cop notices two extra place settings, Billy explains that it's for the twins, Candy and Randy. When asked where they were, Jessica proudly announced they were in the outhouse (a word which she had just learned earlier in the episode). "Together?" the cop questions doubtfully. "Have to," Benson replies. "Siamese." Jessica chimes in, "Candy and Randy will be sorry to have missed you. They're both hoping someday to be a policeman."
Port Charles
I've only seen Friday's episode from this past week, but I enjoyed it so much! "Shippy" moments for my three favorite couples -- Rafe and Alison, Caleb and Livvie, and Lucy and Kevin. Yes, I know Lucy and Kevin's was magic-induced, thanks to little Christina (who looked adorable). Even so, I loved being able to see them share a kiss. They still have amazing chemistry, and it reminded me of how well they work together. Sigh.
Okay, now that that's out of my system, I really need to get to work. I hope everyone has a safe, peaceful, and enjoyable Sunday (or whatever day you might be reading this).
