Pulled out Tori Amos' Boys For Pele today. I had forgotten just how awesome some of the first songs on the CD, like Blood Roses, were. Plus, I listened to this CD over and over one summer, so it brings back good memories. :)

I just got done watching 8 Simple Rules. At times I started thinking about John Ritter's passing, which is (of course) incredibly sad. My heart continues to go out to his family and friends, and I still find it upsetting. At the same time, though, it was kind of nice to be able to see him. He's so lovable and hilarious and it made me thankful that we, as television viewers, were able to enjoy his talent for as long as we were. I don't know if that makes sense or not, and I don't mean to disrespect him or his loved ones. I guess I'm just saying that it's nice to be able to celebrate all that he accomplished and all the joy he brought to the world.

Okay, enough depth (or depth for me, anyway). Reactions to the show itself (not keeping in mind anything about real life, or the future of the show)? I thought it was a pretty good episode; a little different at times (the cafeteria scene was kind of weird), but I laughed quite a lot at several points. It was fun to see Shirley, I mean, Mrs. Doyle. Rory was hilarious -- loved the guitar, loved his making breakfast, loved his delivery on everything. Kyle was pretty funny, too, especially the faces he made with the whole pudding thing. On a completely, entirely superficial note, I don't really like Bridget's hair. Which I know is obviously unimportant in the scheme of things, but whatever.

I had all these other things I was going to say in this entry that were at least somewhat interesting, but I seem to have forgotten them all. Um... yeah, I got nothing. *g*

Oh, and I just heard from [livejournal.com profile] crazyjay that Gordon Jump (of WKRP fame) passed away. Rest in peace, Gordon.

I am anxious to see 8 Simple Rules... I have about 3 and a half hours more to go. lol

And yay for good summer memories. I'm having some of those myself today. :)

I am so, so sorry if I spoiled you. :( I just added an lj-cut, but again, I'm really sorry.

I'm glad you're having good summer memories, though.

No you didn't spoil it. Trust me, I don't mind spoilers at all. I usually love to read things ahead of time. I'm a spoilers type of girl. lol

And thanks. It's nice to be nostalgic sometimes. :)

I lost count on how many times I listened to Boys For Pele in the past month. My favorite song from that album is Professional Widow.

Tonight was the first time I ever saw a episode of 8 Simple Rules. I always used to watch reruns of Three's Company when I was a kid. But I can't seem to find them anymore. :(

As a DJ and Director at WPRK, I am very sorry to hear about Gordon Jump's passing.

Wow, he also was Maytag's Ol' Lonely. And according to imdb.com he was in many of my favorite shows.

We will miss you, Big Guy.

I couldn't find any decent pictures of Gordon Jump, but there were some nice ones of John Ritter. So I made these (all of which were larger and clearer prior to the upload process, but oh, well) and wanted to share them with you.

My favorites would have to be Muhammad My Friend, Hey Jupiter, and Little Amsterdam (I like that section right in the middle of the CD), but Professional Widow is right up there with them. I love to play that one loud. :)

I think Three's Company is on Nick At Nite, but I don't know of any other stations that carry it. Episodes from the earlier seasons pretty much always make me laugh. Chrissy's dumb comments and Jack in general just crack me up.

Those are absolutely beautiful. I especially like the picture in the first and the quote in the last one. Of course, I love Scrubs, too, so I think they're all great. Thank you so much for sharing those.

Thanks. I'm glad you like them. I'm not positive that I got the quote correct on that last one, so it might be a paraphrase, but it's from eastmountainsouth's song "All the Stars."
