According to pavanbadal at Sitcoms Online, James Garner (in at least four episodes) and Suzanne Pleshette (in at least one ep) will be playing Cate (Katey Sagal)'s parents in 8 Simple Rules, once the show returns. I love both those actors, so I'm looking forward to seeing them.

Well, not so much looking forward to seeing them, because I'm kind of dreading "Good-bye" (the Nov. 4 episode where the Hennessy family deals with the loss of their father), but I'll definitely be turning in.

I'm kind of dreading seeing the next episode too. It, no doubt, will be hard. I'm sure everyone will be crying. Cast, crew, and viewers alike. :\

I was just thinking about that a couple of hours ago -- how hard it must be for the cast to resume taping. I feel bad that I didn't think about the crew, too. You're exactly right. :(
